Thanks David for your hint. In fact I did not see the "listener" link,
my eyes tried to catch something in the tabs, I was not aware about a
simple word...

Per default port 587 is not set. I set it now and Telnet connects to it.
I will report if mail sending from Thailand now works reliably.

Doesn't CGP listen on 587 by default? One of my clients is sending via
587 at the moment as a stop gap because port 25 is closed for them at
the moment. I don't remember changing anything to get it running. If you
want to know telnet on 587 and see if you get a response of course make
sure 587 is open on the firewall if you do the test externally.


Opps forgot to say in 5.0.13 you'd make the change in SMTP settings
Receiving and then listener. I assume it would be the same in later or
earlier versions.
