Hello;
now my question is this that I keep seeing on all the phones where they might have 6-12 soft keys >that can be programmed but they all say 2,4,6 lines support. Since I have 4 lines would I in turn >need a 4 line phone or could a single line phone with softkeys be used as well just programmed to >pickup a certain line through communigate?
SIP clients really do not have any line limits, just a matter of processing power and bandwidth. However, many companies sell or license based on "extensions. CommuniGate Pro is licensed on account, whereby that account can have n number of clients "registered" or calling to n number of end points.
Since you will have 4 lines from the PSTN, of course it means you can only use that amount, for all users. But, 25 people could be talking via SIP to 25 others, or "lines".
Next question is quality on these sip phones. Anyone had experience with some of mid to higher end >business grade phones, and know some that compare with traditional business phones? I’m just >afraid of ordering a $200 dollar phone and sounding like I’m in a tunnel every time I use it
We use and recommend Polycom. There is a lot to "quality" when it comes to acoustics, even the type and thickness of the plastic matters.
Regards,
Jon
