You're welcome.

AOL is not as picky about the reverse DNS as are some few servers. They just
require it to not look dynamic, that is to not have the IP address or host
number appear in the host name. To be completely correct, the IP address
used to send email should have a PTR record that resolves to the name used
in the HELO/EHLO your server issues, AND that name should resolve back to
the same IP address.

In many cases, especially if you followed the old Stalker recommendation of
licensing your server to the domain instead of the host name, the name can't
resolve to the same IP address. But the first part should always be
correct-- that is your IP address should have a ptr record that matches your
HELO/EHLO name.

I'd highly recommend trying to get the reverse DNS fixed if that is at all
possible with your ISP. Doing so may require an extra fee. It did with our
current ISP, but it is worth the small fee to have email delivered reliably.

AOL has other options for making sure your email gets delivered as well, but
these all require your reverse DNS be correct first. You can apply for
feedback loop which lets you know when email you send to AOL is considered
SPAM. You should work to eliminate the spam to AOL as much as possible so
you don't get blacklisted. You can also apply for whitelist status if you
send enough mail. This prevents you from being blacklisted for small things.
