I set my smtp listener to port 2525 instead of port 25. Then setup
appliance to deliver to port 2525 and all clients smtp send thru port
2525. Also helps with remote clients on ISPs whom block port 25. Port 25
is blocked on my firewall to my CGP server.

The appliance add headers to the emails right?... then create a rule that any message missing those headers to be mirrored to the appliance and then discarded... forcing only "safe" messages to go thru. and that way you don't need to change anything on the clients. perhaps that way is easier ;)
