It could be alot of things depending on what services you run.
Do you use voip? If so sip could help
Do you use im? Then xmpp could help
Do you use pronto? Them ximss could help.
If it happens all the time try turning up logging everywhere.
One of the great thing about communigate is that you can do this without huge performance drop offs, and then return to standard log levels when needed.

Have you tried a grep in the domain?
Maybe someone has the accounts in there roster (ie they were buddies in IM) and they are trying to subscribe to the account.
Iirc the roster shows is in account.info or account.settings files

I don't think that the directory you mentioned below will cause packets to be processed by the router...  But hey I have been wrong before....
