I had these same problems once on a Windows based CGP and found solutions. It may help you.
1. Increase RPOP processors on Settings > Mail > RPOP
2. Turn on DEP (Data Execution Prevention) just for important Windows progs and services.

i have this messages on the logs :

RPOP failed to allocate a channel. Error Code=cannot allocate an output channel

also sometimes (once by week since a few time), the services CGP is stopped and i dont know why, if you have a idea ..

other logs on RPOP :
