I have a problem report from a user concerning fetching mail with POP. On reviewing the logs I see a few sections like this:

09:55:22.844 2 POP-170202([1.2.3.4]) 'user@dom.com' connected(APOP) from [1.2.3.4]:19478(tls)
09:55:22.844 2 POP-170202([1.2.3.4]) alert sent to user@dom.com
09:55:22.844 2 POP-170202([1.2.3.4]) 'user@dom.com' disconnected ([1.2.3.4]:19478)

What exactly does "alert sent to" mean here ?
